The Opportunity

The Senior IT Applications Analyst is responsible for maintaining and updating solutions and enablers that facilitate the efficient operation of Medibank's Health Services Business. 

How will you add value?

The purpose of this role is to deliver and maintain solutions enabling highly scalable, reliable and secure digital assets. The role spans all aspects of SDLC and will work closely with stakeholders and peers to understand requirements, undertake design configure, engage in deployment activities, and provide maintenance and support.

Further requirements will include:

• Collaborate with internal technology teams and external vendors to ensure proposed solutions are in alignment with stated needs
• Improving system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures
• Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing systems
• Liaising with colleagues to implement technical designs
• Investigating and using new technologies where relevant
• Improve and maintain system documentation (Support guides and Architectural design documents)
• Assess functional solutions against system stability, security and performance of the application suite
• Perform application deployments in both production and non-production environments when required. Ensuring Medibank standards, methodologies and processes are adhered to
• Use Agile and DevOps principles and practices to manage the backlog, plan and monitor delivery in accordance with sprints set during Quarterly planning (QP)
• Provide On call services as per business requirements (24/7 per roster)

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you have worked in a similar fast-paced environment previously along with hands-on experience in working with the following technology stack;

• MS Windows core services
• VMware
• Citrix XenApp
• OpenText Content Server or similar Content Management Tool
• SharePoint, ServiceNOW, Oracle WebLogic server and Web Content Server
• Enterprise monitoring tools (Nagios/Solarwinds/Splunk) Scripting, e.g ASP.NET/ apache/ Ruby/ PowerShell/ SQL/ Automation processes Working knowledge of ServiceNOW
• MS / Postgre SQL
• Apache Tomcat
• Java and/or HTML 5
• Python / Perl

Highly desirable exposure with:

• Atlassian stack - BitBucket (Git), JIRA, Confluence
• Jenkins
• ServiceNOW
• Splunk / Sumologic
• JAMS
• Cloud Solutions (AWS, Azure)
